His war of resistance against Genghis Khan was unsuccessful but not a failure at all. For at least seven or eight years he held back their stream of conquest. He was able to keep the power of terror at bay.
Sometime in the spring of 1221, a fierce battle broke out on the plains of Parwan. The whole arena was resounding with the clang of weapons. The Mongols could not gain advantage in the first day of battle. In the night they made a surprise find. The bodies of the dead soldiers were taken away from the field, then they were buried with sticks and tied to sticks. Toli Khan, the commander of the Mongol army and son of Genghis Khan, was also killed.
Genghis Khan realized that if Jalaluddin could not be stopped, he could not advance further. So he turned his attention from all sides to Jalaluddin. As Genghis Khan prepares for the final battle, the Sultan’s army splits over the division of the spoils. Saifuddin Agarak, the Sultan’s chief commander, defected with about half his army. Saifuddin joined the party at the Sultan’s request, but he fled the Muslim camp with his army late the next night.

Meanwhile, Genghis Khan is advancing in devastating form with the entire Mongol army. On the other hand, the split and internal conflict in the Muslim camp is passing time. Sultan Jalaluddin left Ghazni with his army. Despite being sick, the Sultan continued to run with great speed towards the Indus. The Sultan wanted to enter India by crossing the Indus River. From there, Delhi ruler Shamsuddin formed an army with the help of Iltutmish and returned to Afghanistan to fight the Mongols. Meanwhile, Genghis Khan realized that if Sultan Jalaluddin somehow crossed the Indus, it would not be possible to stop him. So he wanted to attack Jalaluddin before crossing the river Indus by any means.

November 24, 1221 Sultan Jalaluddin fell on a rock at a place called Nilab on the banks of the Indus River. The Mongol army was approaching, with the torrential Indus flowing behind. There are no vehicles for the troops to cross. Standing here, Sultan took the most difficult decision of his life. On the one hand he risked his life and prepared for the final battle, on the other he became worried about the safety of the women in the family. A fierce battle began. It was not possible for the Sultan to cope with several hundred thousand fierce Mongol warriors. The vast battlefield was narrowed by the presence of small Muslim forces. Most of the Muslim soldiers were killed. Only a handful of warriors fought with the Sultan against the Mongol forces. Genghis Khan used all his power to kill the Sultan. But even with this huge army, he could not easily cope with a handful of soldiers.

Seeing that it was not possible to fight any more, he went up to a hill to fight with the Mongols. The raging Indus River flows on the right side of the hill. From a height of about 180 feet, he suddenly jumped with his horse into the bosom of the raging Indus. The Mongols were looking at the Sultan in amazement. They did not think that the Sultan would suddenly do such a thing. He swam to the other side of the river. Genghis Khan and his hundreds of thousands of soldiers looked on in amazement.
Sultan Jalaluddin then looked at Genghis Khan and laughed loudly. The sound of that laughter easily reached the ears of Genghis Khan on the other side of the river. In the face of his resistance, Genghis Khan stopped on the ground of Khorasan. The Sultan also had to contend with the Abbasid Caliphate and the Crusades in Georgia. But the Muslim world did not give importance to this contribution of Jalaluddin.

In many cases, the ghouls also ate the Mongols. These bloodthirsty people have kept themselves busy with the caliphate of Baghdad, Haramain, the protection of human civilization including the Muslim world.
